The Shore House

Typical Urban Infill project that was subdivided from the original 66’ wide lot into two 33’s. Unique in that the project was Certified in 2010 as LEED for Homes Platinum level. It achieved the highest rated score in Canada to date, at a relatively low per square foot building cost. Design mandate was to compliment the existing “Vancouver Specials” on the street with a  Modernist façade without drastically altering the fabric of the neighborhood. Key features are a high-performance building envelope with super insulated/air tight walls, use of natural light into living spaces, Rainwater Harvesting from the roof runoff, high efficient Heat pump/appliances/lighting, high content of Recycled Wood and a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV).
